In the mandate to raise future legislators and leaders in general, the 2020/2021 academic session of the Students’ Union Senate council, University of Ilorin led by Senator Akinyemi Oluwafemi (Femi-fancy) is set to hold the 3rd edition of the students’ parliamentary summit (SPS 3.0).
The summit which is aimed at bringing together students that are driven by the zeal to make a positive impact in the country is scheduled to hold on the 13th of December, 2021 by 9:00 am at the University’s auditorium.
With the theme “Parliamentary challenges of the new millennium: Nigeria in focus”, the Students’ Union Senate council has also called for the submission of articles for her magazine.
In a conversation with the Senate President – Senator Akinyemi Oluwafemi, he mentioned that “The Summit enables you to identify opportunities, successes, and challenges of legislators and leaders”. “It’ll also prepare coming generations for a well-informed and better leadership through a variety of activities and knowledge that’ll be shared during the summit”, he added.
Having the vice-chancellor of the University of Ilorin – Professor Sulayman Age Abdulkareem as chief host and Alhaji Shuiab Yaman as a guest among other personalities, the summit is also set to honour Senator Rafiu Ibrahim Adebayo, senator representing Kwara south Assembly, Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Rep. Tunji Raheem Olawuyi (Ajuloopin), House of Representatives, Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency.
The summit promises knowledge gain, opportunities and freebies and is open to all university of Ilorin students.
