President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of new members of the Governing Board of the National Youth Service Corps, a statement by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development revealed.
The statement announced the appointment of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Sulaiman Age Abdulkareem as a member of the board.
“President Muhammadu Buhari has approved appointments into the National Governing Board of the National Youth Service Corps,” the statement read.
Professor Age was appointed as the representative of committee of Vice-Chancellors alongside seven other members. “Those appointed are Ambassador Fatima Abubakar, Chairman; Oyekunle Oyewunmi, President’s nominee; Mrs Binta Muaza, President’s nominee,” the statement continued.
“Yusut Nalado, President’s nominee; Major Gen B.O. Sawyerr, representative of the Chief of Army Staff; Commissioner of Police, Ede Ayuba, representing the Inspector-General of Police; Sani Aliyu, representing the Committee of Rectors of Polytechnics; and Prof Sulyman Abdulkareem, representing Committee of Vice-Chancellors.”
The appointed members, as stated, would paddle the affairs of the the highest policy-making of the NYSC for three years.
