As part of training its students on photojournalism, the department of mass communication on Friday 8th, 2019 hosted professionals from leading photography brand Canon for a workshop session.
The event had in attendance, guests including the Head of department, Mr. A. L Azeez, lecturer-in-charge Mrs. Kadiri kehinde and members of the canon team led by Mr Oyedokun Idowu.
The event commenced with the school anthem followed by the welcome speech delivered by the HOD mass communication.
Mr Taiwo Adediran who spoke on photography defined photography as the science of recording light, He explored various types of photography and the recommended cameras and lens to use for the various types of photography.
He also spoke about the various types of cameras and video recorders produced by canon. He stressed that canon produces lens and that they create and design their own EOS system.
Mr Oyedokun Idowu spoke next on the ways to make money from photography. He talked about selling pictures to newspaper firms, magazines, book producers and lots more.. He stressed that camera companies buy pictures too, to advertise their products.
The event was also graced by professional photographers, Subby and Ace who advised the students to avoid limiting their imagination, they enthused that monetising photography is an achievable feat they should look towards pulling off.
Canon which has its headquarters at gotta Tokyo in Japan has been in existence since 10th August, 1937 (81years).
