The Assistant General Secretary of the Faculty of Communication and Information Science Students Association, Comrade Isiaq Muhammed Monsur has been handed a five working day suspension by the Students’ Representative Council.
In a broadcast message signed on Sunday by the chairman of the faculty’s Disciplinary Committee, Hon. Adeniran Funminiyi Pius and the secretary, Hon. Bankole Ayopo through the P.R.O, Hon. Atanda Israel, Isiaq was found guilty of indiscipline, disruption of plenary session on and intentionally dishonouring the in-house rules.
A part of the document read, “This became a necessity as the official in question was found guilty of disrupting the plenary session on multiple occasions, disobeying in-house rules intentionally, showing gross indiscipline and insubordination.”
Isiaq’s actions, according to the report, was said to have clearly contradicted the provisions of Article 9 Section 1 sub section 1 of the Constitution of Communication and Information Science Students Association after which he had been warned on several occasions.
The suspension of the AGS will start to take effect from Monday, 13th of January and is expected to end on Friday, the 17th of January.
