Newly admitted students of the faculty of Arts have been advised to always dressed decently. This call was made during the Faculty of Arts’ Orientation program held at the faculty lecture hall on Thursday.

While speaking at the orientation program, the staff adviser, Barr. R. S. Abegunde urged the new students to always dress decently while in school or outside and be a good representative of the university.

“Nudity is not a symbol of beauty. No reasonable or responsible guy will go for any lady who expose her body all the time” he said.

Abegunde added that 90% of rape cases recorded in our society are as a result of indecent dressing among females.

In a similar vein, the chairman, dress code committee, Dr. Zubair Abdulhakeem recounted what what happened last Tuesday when the committee went round the school to apprehend badly dressed students. He said “Out of all the students apprehended for indecent dressing, 65% – 70% of them were freshers”

“If the dress code committee are to carry out their duty in this hall, I bet that over 60% of students here will be apprehended. The dress code committee use this medium to plead to you to always dress properly”

Zubair concluded by congratulating the newly admitted students and warned them not to be found wanting in character.

The event was graced by political dignitaries on campus, among whom were the erstwhile president of the faculty, comrade Fatai Adisa Folorunsho, some members of the senate council led by the senate president, Sen. David Titiloye.
