FASA Dean’s Cup: Dept. of Arabic emerges champion

Department of Arabic in the faculty of Arts, Unilorin has on Monday emerged the champion in the just concluded Faculty of Arts Students’ Association Dean’s Cup

The department emerged the winner of the tournament after winning 3-0 in the final against her opponent, the department of Linguistics. 

The department, for the first time reached final stage and emerged champion since the inception of FASA Dean’s cup in the year 2000. 

Meanwhile, several reactions have trailed the emergence of the department as the the champion in the tournament. 

According to the FASA President, Comrade Folorunso Fatai Adisa, ThatUnilorinboy, he said, determination, unity and inordinate ambition saw the new champion to victory. He also advised all FASAITES to always be united as such is one of the lessons of football.

“Sports foster unity. As such, we should use it as a means to mend fences and make friendship work wonders.”, Folorunso said.

The FASA sport secretary, comrade Idris Muhammad Mustapha also sent  his congratulatory message to the new champion and advised them to maintain the unrelenting effort in all the future tournaments. 

According to the secretary, “The FASA sport festival was a wonderful inter departmental competition which enlightened us to so many things that people don’t understand about sport, most especially, during the knockout and the final stage. Congratulations to the new champion of the Dean’s Cup and my advice to them is to keep it up and work as a team because a tree can never make a forest. Thanks”

In the same vein, female team of department of English language has also emerged the winner of the female tournament after winning 3-0 against thr department of linguistics department in the final stage.

In the male 200meters race, Paul from Religion department emerged the first while Toheeb from  Linguistic department came second and Ayankola of French department came third.

Likewise, in the female 100meter race, Akinola from linguistic department came first, while Iduna from English department came second and

Esther also from English department came third.
