It was a battle for the semi-final round at the Futminna main bowl today. The match ended at 0-0 after several attempts to score from both ends which lead the two teams to a penalty shoot-out.
The duel ended at 0-0 which leads to a penalty shoot-out after extra time which made the home team have a pyrrhic victory of 4-3 to Unilorin warriors. We do believe that this is a retreat not to relent but to reposition for other competitions that await them.
It was also recorded that other teams had their quarter-final return leg play this week just like the warriors on the road to the final. AAUA qualified on a 1-0 home win against the Unilag Marines after a tie play of 0-0 at the Unilag main bowl, Unimaid Desert had a straight home win of 3-0 against UAM Tillers after a 1-0 away loss to their counterparts. UNN Lions also find their place through to the semi-final after a 2-0 home win and a 1-0 lost against UNIBEN Royals. AAUA, FUTMINNA, UNIMAID, and UNN now see their places at the semi-final stage of the HIFL tournament.
