The Human Rights Chambers of Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin on Tuesday, 22nd of January,2019 organized the preliminary stage of her annual oratory contest and an advocacy workshop.
The programme, which was anchored by Activist Ibrahim Ismail Mojishola(Registrar,Human Rights Chambers) commenced at exactly 4:35pm.
Activist Tajudeen Habeebullah (President, Students’ Union Bar), who was present as an Activist and facilitator of the Advocacy workshop; gave a basic definition of Advocacy, cited relevant provisions of the law, and also laid emphasis on the vital need of Lawyers in the society.
Afterwards, the judges; Activist Yahya Shakirah and Activist Shuaib of the 400Level Constituency were introduced to the house.
Activist Yahya Shakirah addressed the participants and gave modalities for the oratory contest. The contest which had nine participants started thereof and the participants: Mbalewe Nneoma, Ogungbe Barakat, Oladoja Khadeejah Omojasola,
Bikaaya Khadijah M.,
Imeje Kenneth, AbdulAzeez Abdullah Abayomi, Oladipo Glory and Adebayo Yusuf.
The first six names listed above qualified for the final round which will come up on the 29th of January,2019 by 4:pm at LR1 of Faculty of Law. The programme however, came to an end at exactly 6:00pm.
