Lambo organizes legal writing contest

Senator representing Faculty of Law at the Senate Council of the Students’ Union, Senator Yahyah Ramadan popularly known as Lambo organized an essay contest for members of the Law Students’ Society.

In an interview with him on the 10th June, 2019 he said the contest was borne out of his campaign promise to enhance intellectual capacity and development of the law students.

The topic for the legal writing contest read:
THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO ZANKU DANCE UNDER THE NIGERIAN LAW: PROSPECTS AND CHALLENGES.
Submission of entries for the contest began on 16th April, 2019 and closed on 18th May, 2019 after an extension of about two weeks.

After perusal of entries by the reviewers, a winner, a first runner up and a second runner up emerged from amongst the contestants.

Mr Othniel Bolaji, a 500Level student emerged the winner.

Mr Akanni Kamaldeen from 100level emerged the first runner up.

And, Mr Glory Oladipo, a 100Level student emerged the second runner up.

Results were announced the same day  by Justice Azeez Mujeeb Opeyemi and the cash prizes were presented by The General Secretary of the Law Students’ Society, Abdullahi Haroon  and Mr Bamidele Jamaldeen, the Lord Advocate of Liberty Chambers
