Learning does not consist only of knowing what we must or we can do, but also of knowing what we could do and perhaps should not do. (Umberto Eco)

Hi! Thank God for another week. Trust you’re getting prepared for Tests and Exams? Students often seem to be tensed during this period but you need not worry or get stressed, here are some tactics to help: Avoid stressful activities during the day to relieve yourself from stress so as not to fall asleep while reading. Also take a nap during the day to help improve mental alertness and sharpness, eat moderately and only when you’re hungry, know what to eat and when to eat. A practical example is the Biblical young Jewish student called Daniel in the Department of Astrology at Babaylon University, became a celebrity and First-class material, He was a student of a moderate and balanced diet(Dan. 1:8).
Another tactic is to make use of bright light to study. Neurologists have proven that a bright and white light, brightens the memory system of the brain and energized the brain calls or mental circuitry to operate at a high level at which it can do anything such as high mental retention, comprehension, alertness. You can also listen to music to boost your IQ but it doesn’t work for everyone, study yourself to know if it work for you.
You can also sip liquid to renew and refresh your body and mental energy. Hydration is another stay awake technique in overcoming drowsiness.
On a final note, you can take a walk or change positions and also taking a break after reading, embarking on a social conversation, writing, etc can also improve your memory system and stimulate your mental alertness and sharpness. “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” however, don’t over do it… Wish you success. Till I come your way next week.
