The bill also put the retirement age of academic and non-academic staff at 65.
A new bill has been passed into law by the Ondo state House of Assembly, stipulating the retirement age of professors in Tertiary institutions as 70.
And to the teaching and non-teaching staff, retirement age is 65.
Sehinde Fanokun, the Spokesperson for the Assembly disclosed this in his statement in Akure, the state capital, on Monday.
He stressed that the executive bill, which has become a law, would take immediate effect.
According to Fanokun, workers in state-owned Tertiary institutions would now stand to enjoy the attendant benefits of this initiative which their counterparts in Federal tertiary institutions had been enjoying all along all thanks to the laudable efforts of Ondo Assembly.
