5 TYPES OF GUESTS YOU FIND IN A NIGERIAN WEDDING
(By:Okorite Joy Harry)
Needless to say, Nigeria is a very dramatic country! From it politicians, to it entertainers, the families, communities etc,its like a cultural inheritance!
Well some events call for more drama than the other and the Nigerian wedding is one of those.
Apart from the dramatic also ebi, one extravagant family member, a friend that dances like earthworm in salt,a caterar that won’t want to serve anyone, there are 5 types of Nigerian guests you should know about.
1.The SLAY QUEENS
What is Instagram hash tags without these ones?, they’d come in breath taking aso ebi styles and take a number of pictures equivalent to what the wedding photographer would take as wedding pictures at the end of the day.(LOL). If the bride isn’t careful, they’d steal her show!
2.THE ‘I TOO KNOW’
And these are those who will complain about the food service, how the bride white dress is looking like cream, how the groom is supposed to wear his suit, how brown the chocolate cake is supposed to be etc.
They won’t stop at that o, no!
They’d proceed to the weddings they have attended that had all their specifications. (P. S They complained at those weddings too!).
3.THE PARTY STARTERS
Well it’s a wedding party quite alright but some won’t vibe to any song until the party starters pull their stunt.
They’d stand almost immediately the music starts to play and dance the latest! So, others then follow since the party starters have ignited the party car.
4.THE WRONG DRESSERS
Hahh!, the bride will almost cry om the stage when she sees these ones.
The wrong dressers can wear a shirt gown, cow boy’s hat and sneakers to a wedding party while their male counterpart could wear baggy shorts, a top and a baseball cap…Dhurr, it’s a Nigerian wedding na!
This could actually be the life of the party o,they are either friends, associates or extended family. They sit together on a round table where they have plenty of things to fill their tummy and take home!
And the extra squad?, they would buy a common aso ebi different from others own to stand out completely. Woe betide the MC who doesn’t recognize them, that might just be your last wedding party to be anchored sir!
