UCJ Set to Hold Freshers’ Oratory Contest

The Union of Campus Journalists (UCJ), University of Ilorin chapter is again set to hold the annual Oratory Contest in the University of Ilorin.

The annual event was birthed five years ago during the Alao Idris (Observation)’s tenure as UCJ President and it has continued ever the years.

The Oratory Contest is organized by the Union for new students of each faculty to display their Oratory prowess where the best three will be awarded.

This year’s contest is themed ‘Mass Consciousness and the Nigeria Leadership’. The preliminaries will be staged among the 15 faculties where the best 7 will be qualified for the grand finale. The grand finale is set to hold on 6th of February, 2019 at the University Auditorium where the speakers as well as their respective faculties will be awarded.

The Union hereby urges students of the university to attend the program on 6th of February to support their respective faculties.

It will be recalled that last year’s edition of the annual contest was won by the Faculty of Law.
