The university of Ilorin management has finally made a 35% increment on university charge against the original 48.4% increment intended.
This was stated by the dean students’ Affairs unit, Prof Tajudeen Ajibade on a radio program anchored by Olatunji Agboola and Aloma Idris of Unilorin FM, 89.3 on Tuesday morning at the university radio station.
The decrease resulted from a resolution meeting of the SU with the management yesterday. The meeting which had in attendance principal officials of the university, the Students’ Union executives, faculty Presidents and members of the Press, lasted over 5 hours. At the meeting the SU pleaded for a reduction in the increment and a promise was made to review the university’s decision by giving a reduction in hike.
The Students’ Union President, Comr Emmanuel Animashaun who was also on air along side the Dean, however, told the UCJ over a phone interview that deliberation with faculty Presidents is still on going for a possible reduction in their respective faculty charges.
The 35% increment of the charge amounts to 21,195 naira with a 5,495 naira difference from the previous academic session.
