Going by the Students’ Union’s Social Director, Luddar B’s account, no fewer than 3000 students were in attendance at the auditioning stage of this year’s Unilorin Idol, and no fewer than 72 contestants participated in the 5th edition of the contest while 37 qualified.
The auditioning, which was held at the Students’ Union Building on Wednesday, started around 4pm and saw 31 contestants qualifying for the first round.
On Thursday 21st, another audition was held at the College of Health Sciences and six contestants emerged. With this, the students fashionista to contest for this year’s Unilorin Idol totalled 37.
This year’s contest tagged Unilorin Idol 5.0., according to the organisers, is meant to hunt for musical talents in the university.
The next event for the main show, according to the Social Director will come on the 27th November by 4pm at PFA Lecture Theatre.
However, after the audition, the main event is scheduled to have four more stages; The first round, second round, third round, and the grand finale which will come up on the 6th, 7th, 9th and 14 of December respectively.
