Unilorin warriors clashes with Kogi State University at the HIFL Tournament

The Unilorin football club  had a first leg play with the Kogi State University at the HIFL tournament 2021in the Kogi State University main bowl.


The Higher Institution Football League (HIFL) is an annual football competition for higher education institutions in Nigeria having about 52 Universities of higher learning with over 50games to be played.

Unical, Uniben and Unilorin are among the teams billed to fight for position in the round of 16 stages. Unilorin warriors had the first leg clash with Kogi State University on the 11th of August 2021. The first leg clash ended with a draw play of 1-1.

The first leg of the contest was played at the Kogi State University main bowl having 18 players out of the 23players that travelled to Ayangba playing for the team.  The Unilorin warriors striker Michael Fashanu scored an opening goal which was returned after three minutes play by a flying header from the Kogi State striker.

The second leg of the match will be held  at Unilorin main bowl on the 14th of August 2021 which will qualify the Unilorin warriors to face Furmina at Niger state for the next round of the tournament.
